In setting up a Google profile page you are virtually guaranteeing yourself a first page listing on Google, but to get the most search engine love out of your profile there are a few things that you can do to optimize your Google profile for maximum online presence.

About me:

• If you’re branding yourself make sure and use your real name.
• Use keywords to describe your business in the What I do section

Bio:

• Write well targeted information about you or your business
• You can add links here. Use keywords in anchor text to your sites
• Add keywords that are relevant to the Interests section

My Links:

• You can add as many links here as you want.
• Make sure to use keywords (or your name) in the anchor text

Profile Url:

• You have one chance to change it. Make sure it’s what you want

One of the best examples I found of a well optimized profile is Katz Web Design. Not only is he doing a great job of branding his name and company but he is also doing a fantastic job of incorporating keywords in to his profile that are relevant to his business.

If you’ve not yet created your Google profile then head over to Google and log in to your account. If you don’t have one, create one. Once logged in click the My Account link in the upper right hand corner of the page, select Profiles and start making yours today.
